There are several factors to consider when designing your wedding suit.
Weather
The changeable nature of the British weather (regardless of season) coupled with the fact that this suit may be party to… well… a party, means that a breathable fibre is a must.
A fabric that contains linen adds texture when paired with lightweight wool and silk and creates an overall look that is very sartorial as well as keeping you feeling physically cool.
Venue
The choice of venue and flowers has an overall impact on what sort of look we’ll create.
Incorporating seasonal colours and textures is important, as well as getting the feel of the setting.
For a country wedding, rustic tweeds or plaids will create a look that is classic English gent. For a city wedding, you may opt for black tie in a fabric that has a softer handle or more of a lustre.
Versatility
The perfect suit for your big day is an investment. Are you going to wear this suit again? If the answer is yes, you may want to steer away from a morning coat and create something that can be worn to other occasions or even to work. A wool, worsted or flannel make beautiful options, if so.
And when it comes to the finer details – the shirt, the cut, the lapels, the embroidery – let’s chat about that over a drink.
